The Loan Processor ensures that each loan package is compliant with SCFC loan standards. Works with stores to obtain all required documents and verify information provided. Documents all steps taken and follows up within specified time frames. Provides excellent service by phone and email to Lithia stores and borrowers. Limits risk to SCFC by identifying fraudulent activity. Must adapt to changing processes and enviroments.

 

The Southern Cascades Loan Processor reports to the Originations Manager.

 

Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

Area of Responsibility

  • Reviews new loans submitted within one business day and communicates any missing items to stores.
  • Verifies insurance is in force and meets company guidelines.
  • Completes employer verification.
  • Completes borrower welcome call.
  • Review and respond to documents provided by stores within 24 hours of receipt.
  • Escalate non-responsive deals to management within 72 hours of store communication.
  • Other duties as assigned including cross training with other processors in the office.

  • Meet and exceed individual objectives as defined by supervisor
  • Adhere to schedules and deadlines
  • Thoroughness, accuracy, and timeliness in completing essential duties

The following knowledge, skills and abilities are needed to be successful in this position:

  • Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Active Listening – give full attention to the words and body language of others, take time to understand the points being made and ask questions as appropriate
  • Critical Thinking – using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Time Management – ability to prioritize workload and manage one’s own time

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior lending experience a plus.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.

  • Working Conditions: Indoor office environment, considerable use of telephone, computer and other office equipment

 

Lithia Hiring Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 18 years or older
  • Possess an acceptable driving record and valid driver’s license in state of residence
  • A criminal history background check will be conducted prior to beginning employment
  • Clear pre-employment drug screen
